Check the size before you buy
Renderior shows a piece at a believable size. Here's how to be sure it fits before you order.
Every picture is a preview made by AI. It places products at a believable size, which is great for judging the look, but it isn't a measurement. Before you buy something big, take five minutes to check.
Measure the spot
Measure the width, depth and height you have, and note the outlets, vents and windows nearby. Compare them with the dimensions on the product page.
Mark it on the floor
Outline the piece with painter's tape, or lay out flattened boxes. Walk around it. It's the quickest way to feel how much room it takes.
Leave room to move
- About 30 to 36 inches for walkways.
- About 14 to 18 inches between a sofa and a coffee table.
- About 36 inches behind dining chairs so people can get up.
Check the way in
Measure doorways, hallways, stair turns and elevators. Many big pieces fit the room but not the route to it.
Once it fits on paper, the picture tells you whether you'll love it.
